Wilfrid Laurier University currently has an opportunity to join the Laurier community as a Manager, Writing and Study Skills.
Reporting to the Director, Teaching, Learning and Retention, the incumbent is responsible for managing the development of the Writing and Study Skills Centre at the Brantford Campus. Working within a team environment, the Manager develops programming to enhance the academic skills of students in all programs and across the disciplines. The Centre uses a peer learning model that assists students with the development of their writing and academic skills, and the Manager oversees additional writing and academic skills instructional support to students and faculty.
The incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of the centre and is expected to be innovative and responsive to the current needs of students and faculty at Laurier Brantford with respect to writing and learning skills, including specific support for student groups such as English Language Learners (ELLs), athletes, graduate students and for existing and new academic programs and disciplines at Laurier Brantford.
The incumbent may undertake special projects related to the evolving development of Retention and Learning. This position requires occasional travel with work done on-site at partner locations and Laurier’s other campuses.
