The CWCA/ACCR executive and conference planning committee is please to announce the 2104 conference keynote speaker, Dr. Laura Greenfield.
Dr. Greenfield (@lagreenf) is a peer mentoring enthusiast and a scholar of anti-oppression education with a particular interest in the intersections of race, gender, and language diversity. Her recent book Writing Centers and the New Racism: A Call for Sustainable Dialogue and Change was the winner of the International Writing Centers Association Outstanding Book Award in 2012.
In 2012, Dr. Greenfield founded a nonprofit organization, Women’s Voices Worldwide, Inc (@WVWorldwide). The mission of that organization is to promote social justice around the globe by educating women and girls to be powerful speakers in all areas of personal, academic, professional, and civic life—regardless of financial means. While running the organization, she also currently serves as a visiting Associate Professor of Communication and Education at Hampshire College where she has created and directs their new Transformative Speaking Program.
